Cambridge Audio launches Melomania Touch

Cambridge Audio has released its Melomania Touch true wireless in-ear headphone. Following in the footsteps of the company’s first ever true wireless earphone, the Melomania 1, it offers: “an all-new design with intuitive touch controls, stunning sound performance and world-class battery life.“

Custom Cambridge Audio 7mm drivers are enhanced with graphene, a lightweight material selected by CA engineers for its strength and rigidity. The true wireless design incorporates Bluetooth 5.0 for signal stability and the latest AAC and aptX codecs.

Additionally, the inclusion of two microphones and Qualcomm’s Clear Voice Capture noise-cancelling technology ensures that voice calls over devices including smartphones, tablets and laptops remain free from background noise.

Each earbud weighs just under 6g, comes supplied with multiple silicone ear tips and selectable fins and features touch controls for playing and pausing music, skipping tracks, adjusting volume, taking hands-free calls, switching on Transparency Mode or summoning Siri or Google Assistant.

With IPX4 certification, Melomania Touch is also protected against water and sweat, while a compact charging case sporting a fast-charging USB-C port is also bundled. In Low Power Mode, the Melomania Touch earbuds claim up to nine hours of battery life from a single charge. You can fully recharge the headphones more than four times over using the supplied charging case – resulting in a further 41 hours of listening. In High Performance Audio Mode, the company says the MT achieves around seven hours of battery life and up to a further 33 hours via the charging case.

There’s also a new Melomania app, compatible with iOS and Android devices, which means you can customise EQ settings, locate misplaced earbuds using your phone’s map location and check each earbud’s battery. Another new feature is Transparency Mode, which feeds in outside ambient noises so you can be aware of your surroundings while enjoying music at the same time. You can further adjust the transparency levels within the Melomania app.

The Melomania Touch is available to buy now for £130 and is on review in the March issue of HFC. For more information click here.
