Helm Audio introduces Bolt DAC/Amp

US headphone specialist Helm Audio has introduced the Helm Bolt DAC/Amp mobile USB digital analogue converter, which supports MQA, glows magenta and is: “aimed at elevating sound quality for portable devices… by providing studio-level quality to our mobile world.”

The Bolt DAC/Amp is palm sized and supports a range of existing hi-res formats and devices, including MQA – as supported by streaming platforms including Tidal –for lossless end-to-end rendering. The Bolt outputs at 88.2kHz or 96kHz resolutions, and for non-MQA content provides the highest resolution available for mobile and gaming applications. Designed to be plug-and-play with no firmware to download, it’s compatible with Android, iOS, Windows, MacOS and Linux devices, while also providing bit-perfect playback using USB Player Pro, HF Onkyo Player, Audirvana Plus and many more.

The company claims it: “is nimble enough to deliver power to the most demanding headphones and has an auto-output level adjustment that can match almost any headphones’ impedance.“

Priced at £75.50, the Helm Bolt DAC/Amp is available to buy now and you can find out more about it here.
