Denon debuts PMA-1700NE, PMA-900HNE integrated amps and DCD-900NE CD player
The PMA-1700NE high-current integrated delivers a claimed power output of 140W per channel (into 4ohm and 70W into 8ohm), features a built-in phono stage that caters for both moving-magnet and coil carts and an optical digital input and subwoofer out that additionally lend themselves to hook-up to a TV.
Offering connectivity for both analogue and digital sources, the PMA-1700NE also provides support for hi-res music up to 32-bit/384kHz and DSD256 from a computer using the USB-B input mated to a master clock and high-performance DAC, designed to suppress jitter during digital playback. The A/B speaker terminals – like all the analogue source-inputs – are gold plated and there’s an electronic volume control delivering channel-linear adjustment of output levels. It measures 434 x 135 x 410mm (WxHxD), weighs 17.6kg and costs £1,700.
The more affordable PMA-900HNE comes with a claimed 85W (into 4ohm and 50W into 8ohm) per channel, streams via wi-fi, AirPlay 2 or Bluetooth and boasts multi-room audio capability through HEOS Built-in. Finally, the DCD-900NE CD player has been developed to complement the PMA-900HNE – creating a full stack able to reproduce any digital music. Incorporating AL32 Processing Plus digital signal processing and filtering, the DCD-900NE features an integrated USB port compatible with hi-res PCM files up to 24-bit/192kHz and DSD128. The vibration-resistant design is intended to isolate the player from unwanted energy, it measures 434 x 107 x 328mm (WxHxD), weighs 4.9kg and is priced at £500.
