Shanling introduces SM1.3 streamer
Chinese electronics company Shanling has announced its SM1.3 streamer, which features an AKM4499EX DAC and AK4191 Modulator. Boasting enough input and output stages to cater for: “all audio setups” and a high-quality TPA6120 dedicated headphone amplifier, the SM1.3 offers native support for streaming apps such as Spotify, Tidal, Apple Music, Apple Classical and Amazon Music. The streamer also has a USB input for Flash drives and M.2 SSD slot for larger digital music collections so it can create a DLNA-compatible music hub.
The company claims its 5.8in touchscreen is: “clear, fast and responsive” while the SM1.3 can also be controlled with the Eddict app for Android and iOS devices.
Wi-fi 6 is on board alongside AirPlay 2 plus a dedicated Ethernet port for access to the user’s network. Shanling explains that: “Bluetooth 5.2 means both LDAC and aptX HD are supported and the output stage offers traditional optical and coaxial options, while an RCA and XLR analogue stage is present as is an I2S digital output with FPGA offering 10 compatibility modes.”
The SM1.3 streamer measures 280 x 110 x 280mm (WxHxD) and comes in Black or White.
Available to buy now for £1,200, you can find out more about the SM1.3 streamer here.
