in-akustik’s Reference LS-404 Micro Air speaker cable comes to UK
Accordingly, the new Reference LS-404 Micro Air speaker cable uses air as the insulation surrounding a total of eight concentric copper conductors in a multi-core architecture, arranged so that the magnetic fields of the positive and negative conductors overlap and neutralise each other. The claim is that this spec reduces the inductance of the cable, promoting a faithful transmission of the audio signal over a broad frequency range with precise timing, making the LS-404 Micro Air particularly effective with larger floorstanding loudspeakers.
The Reference LS-404 Micro Air is available with BFA banana or spade connectors or as an Easy-Plug version. The surfaces of the BFA bananas and the spades are finished with a rhodium coating. Contact surfaces are manufactured from a single piece to minimise contact resistance. The pricing is as follows: LS-404 Micro Air Easy Plug Single Wire 2x 3m: £770; LS-404 Micro Air Easy Plug Single Bi-Wire 2x 3m: £790; LS-404 Micro Air 4mm Banana Single Wire 2x 3m: £860; LS-404 Micro Air 4mm Banana Single Bi-Wire 2x 3m: £950; LS-404 Micro Air SPADE Single Wire 2x 3m: £900; and LS-404 Micro Air SPADE Single Bi-Wire 2x 3m: £1,000.
