Radiant Acoustics debuts Clarity 6.2 loudspeaker

Danish newcomer Radiant Acoustics has unveiled its debut product, the Clarity 6.2 two-way loudspeaker featuring USHINDI-drivers from PURIFI Audio and a 165mm PURIFI USHINDI bass driver with NeutralSurround technology, plus an advanced voice coil.

Radiant, which is an integration of three long-established companies – HiFi Klubben, PURIFI and Nordic Hi-Fi reveals: “For the first time, these advanced technologies are accessible in an affordable, mass-produced design”.

To handle the high frequencies, the Clarity 6.2 uses an AMT tweeter paired with a custom-designed high-frequency beam expansion waveguide, developed by PURIFI’s co-founder and CTO: Lars Risbo. The waveguide narrows the tweeter’s directivity to match the bass driver around 2,400Hz, but, says Radiant, what sets this waveguide apart is its ability to also broaden the AMT’s dispersion at higher frequencies using specialised fins. The company claims this allows listeners to enjoy intricate details even when they are not positioned in the classic ‘sweet spot’.

The speakers also feature a high-end, iron-free crossover design that maintains linearity and sensitivity in a bid to ensure balanced, accurate sound reproduction across all frequencies. Additionally, a 15mm aluminium front baffle has been included to reduce vibrations and distortions.

Radiant claims another of the Clarity 6.2’s standout qualities is: “the ability to handle complex audio with ease. The extremely low intermodulation distortion ensures that even the most intricate details of a musical piece are preserved – allowing listeners to appreciate the nuances of every instrument and vocal.”

The speakers measure 222 x 364 x 266mm, weigh 10.8kg each and come in three colours – Black or White lacquer and a Walnut veneer.
