The MOON 891 utilises new technological innovations such as MOON Damping Base (MDB) – a mechanical system designed in an effort to suppress parasitic vibrations responsible for microphonic noise – and M-RAY2 volume control, which boasts discrete resistors and enhanced components.

Using MOON’s onboard MiND2 streaming platform, the 891 retrieves digital music files while local libraries and internet streaming services integrate via the MiND Controller app for iOS and Android, with additional support for AirPlay, Spotify Connect and Tidal Connect in a Roon Ready solution. Its MDE3 digital engine utilises a dual-mono pair of top-of-the-line 32-bit converters with FPGA re-clocking and a femto-second master clock to help realise the full potential of all two-channel digital audio formats (PCM, MQA and DSD) through a comprehensive set of digital input options.

The 5in graphic colour screen on the front panel displays volume and input selection, enables the setup menu, and showcases cover art and meta data. A high-performance and fully configurable phono preamplifier can also be set up via the screen and menu interface.

The 891 is accompanied by a MOON BRM-1 remote with touch controls, an OLED screen and aluminium volume knob.
