With vinyl sales at their highest level in decades, it’s an auspicious time for any manufacturer to introduce a turntable. Following TEAC’s £599 TN-4D direct-drive, low-profile deck introduced earlier this year and announced in our August issue, the latest arrival from the Japanese audio brand is the TN-3B belt-drive deck priced at £400 packaged with an MM phono stage and USB port for digitally archiving vinyl.

As with the TN-4D, the entry-level TN-3B employs an S-shaped tonearm with knife-edge, pivot-point bearings, and the removable headshell comes fitted with an Audio-Technica AT-VM95E moving-magnet cartridge. Fitted with a die-cast aluminium platter supplied with a felt mat, it supports both 33 and 45rpm with electronic speed change.

On sale now, it’s available with black, cherry or white plinth finishes made from robust and high-density MDF that offers rigidity and vibration-deadening characteristics. It’s also fitted with insulating feet that are topped with a rubber cushion to help further reduce vibrations. You can find out more about the TN-3B here.
