Wharfedale introduces EVO4 Series
Developed side by side with the company’s Elysian flagship speaker series, the EVO4 is said to benefit from processes lavished on the upmarket range and borrows design cues for the cabinet construction and driver configuration. Each EVO4 model is fitted with Air Motion Transformer (AMT) high-frequency tweeters employing a large pleated, lightweight diaphragm driven across its surface by rows of strategically placed magnets said to achieve low distortion, speed and dynamics.
Midrange duties in the five three-way designs (all models except the two-way EVO4.1) employ a specially developed 50mm soft dome driver with wide dispersion and a claimed linear response from 800Hz to 5kHz. Kevlar is the cone material used for the bass units and the driver output is married to a slot-loaded port vented at the base of the speaker. All models are available to buy now in black, white or walnut finishes and you can find out more about the EVO4 Series here.
