Focal unveil Hadenys and Azurys headphones
The Hadenys are described as for use in the home and are named after the Hadean, an eon in which the Earth was first formed – their brown colour apparently evoking: “a return to source, giving the headphones an organic, timeless style”. They feature the brand’s trademark honeycomb grilles, plus a genuine leather and breathable woven fabric headband and yoke.
The Azurys passive headphones have been designed for more general use. They feature the same design and premium materials as Hadenys – genuine leather, woven fabric, aluminium, magnesium, etc. but come in a: “blueish hue, inspired by Azurite, a semi-precious stone of many virtues.”
Both headphones feature drivers designed and crafted in France at Focal’s workshops in Saint-Étienne, the same as those found in the Bathys (HFC 500) headphones, launched in October 2022 as the brand’s first wireless headphones with active noise-cancelling technology. The 40mm drivers with an aluminium/magnesium ‘M’-shaped dome have been adjusted to fit the passive cans and each pair comes with a matching coloured carrying case and cables. The Hadenys is priced at £600, the Azurys at £470.
