Bang & Olufsen unveils Beoplay H100 headphones

Bang & Olufsen has announced the release of its new flagship headphones, Beoplay H100. Coming with: “a silky smooth, scratch-resistant and hardened glass touch interface on the side of the enclosures; together with precision haptic dials and tactile buttons, all essential controls are easily accessible.”

The company goes on to say that the new detachable inner headband, finely wrapped in knitted textile, has been ergonomically designed to provide all-day breathability and comfort, while the earpad cushions are covered in lambskin leather.

The Beoplay H100 is available in three colourways: Infinite Black, Hourglass Sand and Sunset Apricot, and comes with a lightweight leather case. When outside the pouch and not being worn, they enter a low-power mode, extending standby time up to a claimed 90 days while remaining ready to activate when put on. If stored in the pouch, the headphones power fully off, enabling more than a year of standby time.

They feature 40mm custom-made titanium drivers housed behind aluminium grilles and B&O describes them as: “the best pair of headphones we have ever created… We have developed an advanced microphone system that delivers a crystal clear voice even in very demanding situations, doubled the performance of our active noise cancellation from Beoplay H95 and newly developed EarSense technology that tailors the sound to the wearer’s unique fit in real time while listening to music on the go.”

The Beoplay H100 delivers up to 24-bit/96kHz, is optimised for Dolby Atmos and users can customise the interface to their own taste by using the Bang & Olufsen app. The battery offers a claimed 32 hours with Active Noise Cancellation or 30 hours with Spatial Audio and Headtracking, while the quick charging function provides up to five hours of playtime from just five minutes of charging.

The launch of the Beoplay H100 also marks the dawn of Bang & Olufsen’s new platform for wearables. Inspired by the company’s Mozart software, the system is upgradable so the headphones won’t be surpassed by new technology. B&O will be bringing new capabilities to the Beoplay H100 in the future, notably wireless hi-res audio and 3-Device Multipoint.

Available to buy now fro £1,300, you can find out more about the Beoplay H100 here.
