Bowers & Wilkins debuts Zeppelin Pro Edition
The Pro Edition now boasts Titanium Dome tweeters – as used in the latest generation of B&W’s 600 Series speakers – mounted at the far edges of the enclosure and fully isolated from vibrations running through the cabinet generated by other, larger drive units.
These are paired with 90mm midrange drivers using B&W’s proprietary Fixed Suspension Transducer FST technology – as used in all of its premium floorstanders. These have been upgraded with increased cone damping, reducing the effects of cone break-up for a more open midrange sound.
A 150mm subwoofer is used to add: “deep, detailed and refined bass to the open, high-resolution sound of the combined system”. Mounted centrally at the heart of the Zeppelin Pro Edition, its design is optimised to avoid unwanted ‘rocking’ of the cabinet as it operates for a cleaner-sounding and more agile bass delivery. The Zeppelin Pro Edition has multi-room functionality built in. It can be used with other new Zeppelins in a multi-room environment or system based on Bowers & Wilkins’ wireless Formation speaker range.
Able to stream via AirPlay2, Bluetooth aptX Adaptive and Spotify Connect, the Zeppelin also gives users access to all the music streaming services available from the B&W Music app, including Deezer, Last.fm, Qobuz, Tidal, TuneIn and many more. This also means the Zep interacts with Bowers & Wilkins’ range of wireless headphones or earbuds, which can also be controlled by the same Music app.
Available to buy now for £700 and on test in the February issue, you can find out more about the B&W Zeppelin Pro Edition here.
