Cyrus adds Classic POWER and Power-XR power amplifiers
The Classic POWER’s circuit topology has been completely re-designed, the majority of the internal components have been upgraded and it responds from DC to beyond 50kHz, which Cyrus says ensures: “ruler flat frequency response while keeping any undesirable phase shifts out of the audio band”. The power supply boasts a 408VA toroidal power transformer and the amp includes a port for the PSX-R2 power supply. Power from the PSX-R2 is routed internally to the voltage amplifier stage of the Classic POWER and it can be remotely switched to and from a low consumption standby mode via MC-BUS or using the 12V trigger input.
It weighs 7.3kg, measures 215 x 75 x 355mm (WxHxD) and is priced at £2,400.
Cyrus explains that the Power-XR responds from DC to beyond 100kHz, the power supply includes a 408VA toroidal power transformer and a port for the new PSU-XR power supply, which the company says sources five independent regulated supplies in a single box. For the Power-XR a pair of these is assigned to provide power for the voltage amplifier and a second pair to offer a boost for the power amplifier.
The LED colour and brightness will automatically set to match the colour and brightness settings via MC-BUS from the master XR product in the system and the Power-XR can be remotely switched to and from a low consumption in the same way as the Classic POWER.
It weighs 7.3kg, measures 215 x 75 x 355mm (WxHxD) and is priced at £2,100. Both are housed within a half-width die-cast hand-finished aluminium chassis.
