Danish speaker specialist DALI has revealed that it is bringing to market its new Rubikore series. Consisting of five models – two floorstanders (the RUBIKORE 8 and RUBIKORE 6), the RUBIKORE 2 bookshelf, RUBIKORE ON-WALL cabinet and RUBIKORE CINEMA home cinema centre.

Drawing inspiration from the DALI KORE flagship loudspeaker, the new RUBIKORE Series employs a 29mm low-loss soft dome tweeter and 17x45mm planar tweeter working together alongside a new 165mm double magnet paper and wood fibre midrange/bass driver.

The RUBIKORE 8 floorstander combines three of the 165mm midrange/bass drivers with the 17x45mm planar tweeter and 29 soft dome tweeter for a claimed sensitivity of 90.5dB into 4ohm loads. It measures 220 x 1,100 x 444mm (WxHxD) and weighs 30kg

The RUBIKORE 6 reduces the mid/bass drivers to two. It has a claimed sensitivity of 88.5dB into 4ohm loads, measures 200 x 990 x 380mm and weighs 23kg.

Within their crossover circuits, both speakers employ SMC KORE Inductors to reduce signal loss. Fitted with Continuous Flare reflex ports that maximise efficiency while simultaneously minimising turbulence and noise. DALI says that the RUBIKORE 8: “excels at relaxed, large scale, wide dispersion, low loss and amplifier-optimised sound quality, while the RUBIKORE 6 is designed for ambitious high-end stereo systems in medium-to-larger sized rooms where its compact floorstander design provides great installation versatility.” They cost £6,000 and £4,500 respectively.

The RUBIKORE 2 bookshelf speaker has been designed to provide high-end sound quality in smaller rooms, combining a single 165mm mid/bass driver with the same tweeter matchup as its siblings. It has claimed sensitivity of 87dB into 4ohm, measures 195 x 350 x 335mm (WxHxD) and weighs 9.5kg.

Finally, the RUBIKORE ON-WALL combines the same drivers, but the tweeter baffle is rotatable so the speaker can be placed horizontally or vertically. It has claimed sensitivity of 88.5dB into 4ohm loads, measures 178 x 465 x 242mm and weighs 8.5kg. The RUBIKORE 2 costs £2,300 and the RUBIKORE ON-WALL £1,300.

Finishes for all cabinets include High Gloss Black, High Gloss Maroon, Natural Walnut and High Gloss White.
