FiiO debuts KA15 USB DAC and headphone amplifier
“Redefining portable hi-fi,” is how FiiO boldly describes its new KA15 USB DAC and headphone amplifier. Featuring a dual ESS ES9038Q2M DAC chip architecture and high-performance THX AAA-78 amplifier, the KA15 supports PCM playback up to 32-bit/768kHz, DSD512 and MQA rendering, allowing users to experience their favourite tracks in full resolution. With a claimed output power of up to 450mW per channel at 32ohm, the KA15 is equipped with USB-C input and a variety of output options including a 3.5mm single-ended jack and 4.4mm balanced output.
The KA15 features multiple gain settings (Low, Medium and High) and a low-power mode, allowing users to adjust the output depending on their headphone impedance or to conserve battery life during mobile use. It is also equipped with an intuitive RGB LED indicator, which changes colour based on the audio file’s bit-rate or format being played – giving users instant feedback on their listening experience.
Weighing in at 50g, FiiO says the KA15 is: “one of the most compact high-end DAC/amps available, making it perfect for users who prioritise portability without sacrificing performance”.
Available to buy now for £100, you can find out more about the KA15 USB DAC and headphone amplifier here.
