Rocksteady Audio updates Stadium speaker bundles
Version 2.0 will introduce Rocksteady’s newly conceived, aluminium-coated and reshaped speaker cones, which feature dynamic and responsive driver assemblies, new antenna and drivers for longer range and connectivity, plus a new processor, circuitry and architecture to help the speakers run cooler and the batteries last longer (30 hours is claimed). In the new model, Stereo Mode optimises the sound profile for immersive, stereophonic soundscaping. In Long Range Mode, the left and right sound files are merged and pushed to longer ranges, up to 150 feet apart (depending on interference).
Full mode is the default while in clear mode, the speakers are tuned to approximate studio sound clarity, which the company says is ideal for users who prefer to choose their own equaliser settings. The Rocksteady Stadium subwoofer also features two sound options: full bass and deep bass, giving the listener added configuration options.
The new versions of the Stadium speakers and sub are also backwards compatible, so they can be connected with earlier versions.
Rocksteady says the speakers and sub can be placed: “almost anywhere or mounted on a wall. The portability also allows the user to bring music outside with no loss of audio quality – it’s music anywhere, any time.”
Pricing is as follows: $250 for a two-speaker set; $430 for a two-speaker set with subwoofer; $470 for a four-speaker set; and $600 for a four-speaker set plus subwoofer. Carrying cases and straps are also available.
