Sonus faber unveils Duetto wireless speaker system
Housed within the heatsinks are two amplifiers – a 100W Class AB for the 18mm silk-domed tweeter and a 205W Class D to drive the 133mm paper pulp mid/bass driver. The top of the cabinet features a leather-finished Senso interface, which allows the user to control functions such as volume, input selection and connections. Duetto is wi-fi certified and features digital connections including AirPlay, Chromecast, Tidal, Spotify, Roon ready and Bluetooth, while vinyl playback is supported by a moving-magnet input, which is also switchable for line-level sources. Setup is via a new Sonus faber app that allows users to customise settings.
The 18mm silk dome tweeter is equipped with a copper cap to amplify the driver’s emphasis on the lower frequencies, while keeping the highest notes smooth and clear, and it encompasses a waveguide ring that increases an out-of-axis response, which the company claims guarantees an astonishing listen from every part of the room.
The 133mm paper pulp mid/bass driver is rigged with surround suspension and a neodymium magnet for the deepest frequencies and is enclosed in a new Sonus faber Organic Basket designed to prevent resonance and ease the air flow produced by the long excursion of the driver. Duetto stands are sold separately for £650 a pair.
Available to buy now for £3,490, you can find out more about the Sonus faber Duetto here.
