Heco's new Direkt loudspeaker
German audio specialist Heco describes its latest loudspeaker as a combination of "traditional hi-fi values coupled with innovative technology" and it's easy to see why. The new two-way floorstander boasts a 275mm subwoofer featuring a lightweight HECO kraft paper diaphragm. The actuator of the diaphragm is equipped with low-loss rubber beading that's claimed to offer low distortion characteristics along with a very dry and precise bass range. Two bass reflex tubes screwed on to the bottom of the enclosure are designed to provide additional depth.
Higher frequencies are handled by a high-energy silk-compound dome with solid aluminium wave guide. The tweeter has a specially shaped front panel with a strong double-magnet drive and is claimed to display excellent efficiency. The entire loudspeaker is designed for high efficiency and Heco believes that it is the ideal partner for classic and modern transistor and tube amplifiers from an output of 10W per channel.
The speakers are slightly tilted and set on a solid metal base structure. Metal spikes and more floor-friendly rubber feet are included, while solid, gold-plated screw-type terminals are located around the rear.
A special highlight is the sturdily constructed MDF flat enclosure with multiple bracing and attractive curves, the design of which is influenced by the classic guitars from rock history. The elegant silk matt lacquer finish in "black & black“ or "white & silver" with contrasting double stripes on the front underlines the high quality standard.
The Heco Direkt is available now for €1,499 each and you can find out more about it here.
