We're seeing a growing number of brands introducing new or revised entry-level speaker lines, proving that there's growing interest in the sector attracting new audiences looking to take the first steps along the hi-fi path. It's a healthy state of affairs, and the plentiful choice of models on offer ensures there's lots of competition, meaning better-quality products and lower prices for everyone.

Dynaudio is the latest loudspeaker maker to join this increasingly popular sector with the introduction of its Emit entry-level series. The new range officially launched at the Bristol Hi-Fi Show back in February with the four-strong range promising high-level performance at affordable prices, according to the Danish manufacturer. Despite its entry-level positioning, the series aims to deliver incredible dynamics, high levels of transparency and detail and powerful bass combined with exceptional imaging and sound-staging capabilities, it continues.
Available in black or white satin finishes, the Emit series is aimed at hi-fi and home theatre fans alike, with a M15 C centre speaker (£425) – not shown – sporting a 28mm soft dome tweeter flanked by two 110mm mid/bass drivers, if that's your thing.

Of course readers of HFC will be mostly interested in the three models suited to two-channel setups, and all Emit series models are bass reflex designs with rear-facing ports and single-wire speaker terminals. 

The range kicks off with the M10 (£499) standmount whose compact dimensions suggest that it's ideal for small or medium-sized rooms and is fitted with a 28mm soft dome tweeter allied to a 140mm MSP (Magnesium Silicate Polymer) mid/bass driver. It claims 86dB sensitivity and 6ohm nominal impedance. The M20 (£599) is ideal for medium-sized rooms, and is fitted with the same 28mm soft dome tweeter found on the M10, but married to a 170mm mid/bass driver. Sensitivity is quoted at 86dB with a 4ohm impedance. 

Last, but by no means least, the M30 floorstander (£1,250) employs the same size drivers as found on the M20 standmount, but employs two mid/bass drivers. The two-way design  claims 86dB sensitivity and 4ohm impedance and has a relatively compact footprint for a floorstander. All Emit models are available now. Click here for more details.
