NuPrime launches PRA-9X stereo preamp
Alan Ainslie, Managing Director of ADMM told HFC: “The PRA-9X offers the performance and build the industry has come to expect from NuPrime, with the added bonus of vinyl record integration via a very high-quality RIAA adjustable phono input, configurable for load and capacitance. True balanced input and output allows integration into high-end balanced systems and makes driving active speakers so simple. All in a stylish compact housing matching the NuPrime 9 series components”.
As mentioned, top of the featurelist is the RIAA moving-magnet phono amplifier circuit with adjustable input capacitance and impedance for precise cartridge tuning, giving optimum performance for a wide range of MM cartridges. It also boasts a fully balanced input and output design and utilises a MUSES8820 bipolar-input dual op-amp module.
The PRA-9X features NuPrime’s next generation current booster circuit, providing 0.0004 percent (7.5Vrms) THD performance and 114dB signal-to-noise ratio and an input and output trigger for power on/off control of multiple devices. As well as the aforementioned phono stage, inputs include a pair of analogue stereo RCAs and an XLR, while outputs incorporate a 6.3mm headphone, stereo RCA and XLR.
The PRA-X9 measures 235 x 55 x 281mm (WxHxD), weighs 2.5kg and comes in a choice of black or silver finishes.
Distributed in the UK by ADMM and costing £1,200, you can find out more about the NuPrime PRA-9X here.
