June 2024 issue now on sale
My bags are packed, I’m ready to go… No, hang on. Don’t get the wrong idea. You don’t get rid of me that easily. I’m just mumbling along to John Denver’s Leaving On A Jet Plane and planning a break somewhere hot and relaxing. Oh, and cheap, obvs.
Pretty near the top of my hols prep list is some decent in-ears that will serve me well on the journey and for that relax around the pool. Which is where this month’s Group Test comes in pretty handy. Reviewer Cliff Joseph has selected six of the newest and finest in-ears and given them a rigorous workout, specifically with summer usage in mind.
Here’s what he has to say: “Noise cancelling is now almost standard on high-quality Bluetooth headphones and earbuds – although some audiophile models still prefer to avoid it as the manufacturers believe it can have a detrimental effect on sound quality. To test noise cancelling we use a test file which simulates the low-frequency sound of engine noise in an aircraft cabin alongside a variety of files that reproduce the more varied background noise you might hear in a busy airport.”
Just the job. You can read who does what best starting on page 34.
Enjoy!
