Bob Dylan to release The Best of The Cutting Edge 1965-1966: The Bootleg Series Vol. 12
Bob Dylan will be releasing the latest volume in his acclaimed bootleg series of previously unreleased studio recordings –including never-before-heard songs, outtakes, rehearsal tracks and alternate versions from the Bringing It All Back Home, Highway 61 Revisited and Blonde On Blonde Sessions – on 6 November. Bob Dylan: The Best of The Cutting Edge 1965-1966, will be available in special double-CD and tripple-vinyl packages and focuses on the trilogy of albums that secured Dylan's reputation as a songwriter and performer of unprecedented depth. All recordings included are pristine transfers and mixed from the original studio tracking tapes.
The package comes with an annotated book featuring hundreds of rare and never-before-seen photographs and memorabilia and new essays penned especially for the collection by Bill Flanagan and Sean Wilentz.
Meanwhile, an 18-disc Collector's Edition version will also be available and limited to a worldwide pressing of only 5,000 copies. It includes every note recorded during the 1965-1966 sessions, every alternate take and alternate lyric. Also included are Dylan's original nine mono singles released during the time period, rare hotel room recordings from the Savoy Hotel in London (May 4, 1965), the North British Station Hotel in Glasgow (May 13, 1966) and a Denver, Colorado hotel (March 12, 1966) as well as a strip of original film cels from Don't Look Back.
