February 2025 issue now on sale
To paraphrase the start of The Who’s Tommy: gotta feelin’ twenty-five is gonna be a good year. Certainly if the themes emerging from the stories and reviews in this issue are anything to go by, we hi-fi enthusiasts have bona fide cause to feel optimistic about the 12 months ahead.
For a start there’s the industry’s increasing attention to environmental matters, looking to cut the use of wasteful packaging and seeking for sustainability in new products. Neville Roberts investigates the latest state of play on p79.
Then there’s a noticeable trend towards creating affordable kit of high quality, whether it be brands trickling down tech from their flagship offerings to enhance stuff we can realistically audition or the arrival of new firms with their sights firmly set on delivering quality at a sensible price. See our review of newcomer Fell Audio’s amp and CD player on p60.
And, to add healthy competition, there’s been a surge in established UK distributors taking on new clients from all over the world so the market has never been so chock-full of choice, the latest example being High End By Oz UK importing kit from Greek company Ypsilon, full details on p128.
So, lots to look forward to.
Enjoy!
