Gibson launches Philips BM5
Gibson Innovations has unveiled the Philips BM5, which is the first product in its new Izzy multi-room platform, designed to make using multi-room music is as simple as possible. The idea being that the user simple connects to a single speaker using Bluetooth and then Izzy will automatically find and connect to all other Izzy products around the home. The BM5 connects easily to your playback device via Bluetooth and is equipped with two 2.5in full-range drivers while an integrated bass port delivers what the company describes as "a true, deep low-end performance". Each individual speaker can be used either alone or paired with up to four other Izzy speakers by pressing the ‘Group’ button and an LED then indicates the strength of the connection. Each speaker is claimed to have a 100m range. Further products featuring the Izzylink technology will follow, including the BM50 CD+ flat micro allowing users to steam radio and CD through their Izzy speakers.
The Philips Izzy BM5 is priced at £99.99 and is now available from Amazon, Harvey Norman (Ireland) & Expert (Ireland) and later in October from QVC, Argos, Maplin and AO.com.
