Hidizs introduces MP145 whale-inspired in-ears
The distinctive design was inspired by the pleated throat grooves of whales, so Hidizs is hoping to give back by supporting WDC’s green whale work and helping to raise awareness about the vital role the creature plays in the health of our oceans.
Hidizs says, with WDC’s assistance, it drew inspiration from whales’ biological features. By incorporating whale tail and rorqual pleat characteristics, the company claims to have achieved a smooth, ergonomic shape that fits the ear perfectly. Utilising advanced moulding and five-axis CNC carving, the headphone panel is divided into three parts with a 12-layer milling pattern, resembling whale tail fins and pectoral flippers.
The customised ultra-large driver features a symmetrical planar magnetic driver with a 14.5mm diaphragm diameter. The company says: “this large diaphragm size offers inherent advantages in audio information and dynamic range compared with other driver types. The design ensures lower harmonic distortion and enhanced magnetic circuit efficiency.”
Through Hidizs’ three pneumatic sound tuning filter replacement technology, the MP145 offers nine different sound styles complemented by ear tips crafted for vocal, balanced and bass modes.
Available to buy now for £130, you can find out more about the Hidizs MP145 in-ears here .
