Linkplay launches WiiM Pro Plus streamer
It also features a new generation AKM 4493SEQ premium DAC that the company claims can achieve a leading level of low distortion and wide dynamic range, thanks to AKM’s Velvet Sound Technology. It supports up to 768kHz PCM and DSD512, with PCM/DSD automatic switching for the latest high-resolution audio sources.
The WiiM Pro Plus can be connected to the user’s other audio equipment via its wi-fi, Ethernet, RCA, optical or coaxial outputs. It’s compatible with voice assistants such as Siri, Alexa and Google and is sold in a bundle with the voice remote controller, providing an alternative method of wireless operation.
Ultimately the idea is that, rather than invest in an entirely new connected audio system, the WiiM Pro Plus allows the user to keep the high-quality speakers or turntables they’ve already invested in and connect them without the cost of extra cables, external DACs and with no compatibility issues.
The WiiM Pro Plus supports AirPlay 2, Alexa Casting, Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, Qobuz, Amazon Music, Deezer, TuneIn, iHeartRadio and more. It also features Chromecast Audio, which lets the user cast YouTube Music, TV audio, radio stations, podcasts and local content directly from their Chromecast-enabled app. The company says that Roon Ready will be supported soon.
Available to buy now for £220, you can find out more about the WiiM Pro Plus streamer here.
