Magico to introduce A5 loudspeaker
Shared with the other models in the A-Series, the tweeter is a 28mm pure beryllium dome with a damped back chamber that helps to lower distortion and improve power and dynamic handling. Sensitivity is rated at 88dB into 4ohm and power handling at 50 – 1,000W.
The A5’s cabinet is a sealed enclosure in a brushed black anodised finish that’s machined from aircraft-grade aluminium with complex internal bracing, and is said to be the same material and construction method as found in the company’s even more upmarket Q-Series.
A dedicated sub-enclosure houses the midrange driver to isolate it from any stray back energy caused by the large bass drivers. All five drivers are integrated with Magico’s proprietary Elliptical Symmetry crossover, built with Mundorf components that incorporate new M-Resist Ultra foil resistors.
Magico’s founder Alon Wolf says: “The A-Series has been a great success in reaching a wider audience.” He continues: “The A5 builds on that success with a new midrange of extraordinary musicality.”
Magico's A5 floor stander is expected to be available from "Spring" and you can keep up to date about news on its release on the Magico website. The A5 will be distributed in the UK by Absolute Sounds .
