Marantz releases CD 50n and Model 50 CD player and integrated amp

Marantz has released a new CD player and integrated amplifier in the shape of its CD 50n and Model 50. The company describes the CD 50n as: “one of the most flexible CD players ever invented, both a top-quality compact disc player and a high-resolution networked audio playback source, offering high-quality support for a wide range of digital music sources”.

It features an ESS Sabre DAC, custom-designed Marantz Musical Digital Filters, multiple digital inputs plus network access via Ethernet or wi-fi. It can also support hi-res music files sent either directly via digital audio connections or streamed over a home network using its built-in HEOS music streaming platform.

Music streaming from mobile devices is also available via Bluetooth, Spotify Connect and AirPlay 2, while TV audio can be hooked up via HDMI ARC.

Meanwhile, the Model 50 integrated takes inspiration from the previous Model 40n and boasts 70W per channel of high-current Class A/B power. It has High Current Output architecture based on parallel push/pull pairs of output devices, coupled with a toroidal power supply and internal signal path topography designed to minimise internal impedance losses. Coupled with the latest iteration of Marantz’s HDAM (Hyper Dynamic Amplifier Module) technology, the Model 50 offers: “an outstanding combination of exceptionally low distortion, effortless power and accuracy, transparency and musicality.”

The configuration is pure analogue and it includes a high-quality MM phono stage.

Both models feature fascia displays while the remote control supplied with each is able to operate its sibling just as well. The price for either component is £1,600 each.

Available to buy now, you can find out more about the Marantz Model 50 and CD 50n here.
