Totem presents KIN ONE loudspeaker
The new speaker uses specific custom proprietary drivers. Totem says the MHEX bass driver (Multiple Strata Hex Cone) is: “stiffer than metal, but reacts very fast and sounds like paper. The titanium-infused soft dome tweeter is harmoniously matched to both this driver and the cabinet, resulting in perfect phase response.”
The KIN ONE appears to be a much smaller version of Totem’s Element Fire V2, which is 14 times more expensive and the company insists that the design of the cabinet assists with the precise base tuning in conjunction with the crossover. Using seven high-quality precision components, the 2nd order crossover is minimalist but, says Totem: “a remarkably effective design to achieve maximum performance from the two aforementioned drivers and custom cabinet.” There’s also an L-shaped port to achieve a much longer length in a small cabinet to, “virtually eliminate cabinet resonances”. This port design allows information to exist below a claimed 65Hz (ie 40Hz @ -12dB).
The KIN ONE measures 127 x 243 x 159mm (WxHxD), each cabinet weighs 2.8kg and it comes in five satin finishes: Pink, Blue, Orange, Black and White. Magnetic grills are included.
Available to buy now for $600, you can find out more about the KIN ONE here.
